My favorite genre of music at the moment is Metal, and I love all forms it comes in. Though its stylistic roots lie in negativity, and it might sound abrasive to someone unfamiliar with extreme music, it's an underexposed genre which has borne some of my favorite works of art. In metal, what I find appealing could be the energy, subject matter, melody, rhythm, or simply the technical skill and musicianship it takes to write and play this shit.
Unfortunately, I have no friends who enjoy metal as passionately or as primarily as I do, so I have no consistent and reliable outlet to express my music taste to other people, aside from occasionally playing a snippet of a song for my mother or my close friend Gabe. The partial aim of this blog is to fulfill that purpose, to express what I love about music through analytical album reviews. Not all of it will be metal of course; I listen to other genres such as darkjazz, ambient, and general synth stuff.
My favorite hobby is creative writing. I consider my "main genre" of writing to be Sci-Fi/Fantasy, and I write both short stories and long-form novels as well, though I'm interested in documenting my philosophy at some point. This blog is where my finished pieces will go, so that people who know me can easily locate my work.
